Every now and then we are given the opportunity to play around with server hardware. Today is one of those days. I-Star, known for their high end server power supplies, has sent over one of their new D-300 series 3U rack mount enclosures (Model TC-3810). For those who are not familiar with rack mounts, they are nothing like a desktop enclosure or even a server tower. Rack mount enclosures are compact in design. They are designed to mount in a stack style configuration so the owner can cram as many servers into one rack as possible, yet remain easily accessible for maintenance.
