ECS 945G-M3 Viiv Motherboard Review

HTPC enthusiasts will certainly take interest in ECS' latest Viiv motherboard. Being a mATX board will also make finding a HTPC friendly chassis a little easier.

"While aimed at being the basis for a media PC, there are a few omissions on the board that make other boards more attractive for this purpose. No DVI (and therefore no possibility of DVI to HDMI) is a pretty glaring one, as with only an analog 15 pin D-Sub onboard, you will still need to purchase a third party PCIe 16x graphics card. Thankfully there are plenty of cards in the marketplace that can compliment this mATX boards silent approach but be aware that adding a graphics card will likely prohibit use of the 1x PCIe slot, something that won't currently be a big issue for most."
