I find it amusing that Microsoft has started advertising the "social" as if we had never thought of the concept of sharing music with our friends and/or enemies (or perhaps making enemies of our friends). These days its perfectly natural to see a single set of headphones attached to two heads, or to find a small and portable speaker system blasting out tunes at a BBQ. Altec Lansing has been releasing these sorts of portable audio systems for some time, and the IM500 is yet another, touted as an "impossibly thin speaker system for your Nano." Can it provide the "social" that we all desire..?
