Thermaltake offers an extensive range of quality power supplies and their most powerful versions are part of the Toughpower series. Today we take a look at an 850 watt Toughpower unit which features a modular cable design for an easy and tidy installation. Apart from the excessive power output rating, this power supply does have some other striking features such as the low-volume 14cm fan and anti-vibration silicon pad. For all the details be sure to read the full review...

This 850 watt power supply may not seem all that extreme, with so many 1000w plus units cropping up, however we have found that for the time being 600 watts is really the sweet spot for gaming systems. In fact, our quad-core, SLI, RAID0 gaming system used for testing power supplies only uses 530 watts under maximum load. So while this might be a little much for a 600 watt unit to deal with all the time, good quality 700 ~ 850 watt units will handle this kind of load with ease. However, 850w is boarder line stupidity, if you will, for such a system, though if you plan to do some serious overclocking the extra juice could come in handy.
