The new ASUS P5K Deluxe which utilizes the Intel P35 Express chipset is a sensational product. As you would expect from a high-end ASUS motherboard, the P5K Deluxe packs a serious amount of features and all the performance possible for a Core 2 Duo platform. However, where the P5K Deluxe really rises above the competition is its overclocking abilities. This new ASUS motherboard pushed our Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 processor to a staggering 3.80GHz!

When it came to overclocking we were expecting to do quite well out of the ASUS P5K Deluxe, given how well previous ASUS P965 and 975X motherboards overclocked. Furthermore the Gigabyte P35-DS4 managed to get our E6700 processor to a stable 3.66GHz, which at the time was the best overclock this processor had achieved and that record was initially set with the ASUS P5B Deluxe. However this record has now been smashed, as the P5K Deluxe managed to boot up at 4.02GHz, but unfortunately this was not a stable overclock.
