One of the first things I noticed when I took the Axis out of the box was it was actually heavier then I thought it would be! The unit itself weights in at 1.5lbs which doesn't seem much but it does. After getting the unit out of its packaging and setup the Axis unit is very nice! It comes with this aluminized black metal case with the Maxtor on the side of the unit. On the front of the Axis you have your basic setup with a power light, hard drive light and access light. The LED's are a nice soft blue color which is pretty cool with the black metal look of the outside.
