There are some new features and a few changes to the 09 version, but at the same time I don't think that the game is sooooo different from the 08 version that upgrading is a necessity. One final thing that I want to emphasize on is the fact that MLB 09 The Show, just like its predecessor, has very long loading times. Waiting a minute to load may not be so bad if you're playing a full game, but if you're in career mode and the coach allocates you just a few pitches or bat swings, waiting a minute for the game to load so you can play 2 to 3 minutes of baseball may not be worth it.
