CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 Heat Pipe Direct Touch CPU Cooler Review

Heat is the ghastly beast that every enthusiast is trying to slay. The unfortunate fact is that we can only reduce the effects of heat on our components, not eliminate it. Every manufacture has their solution and some work better than others. Some can be improved by changing or adding fans or by changing thermal pastes. Heat-pipe technology has been around for a while and is pretty much the de-facto standard when it comes to CPU cooler technology.

The next phase of change for the coolers is to add heat-pipe direct touch. H.D.T. is a technology were the heat-pipes come in direct contact with the I.H.S. of the CPU rather than encased in a copper plate that comes in contact with the CPU. Theoretically this should increase the heat transfer from the CPU to the cooler and in turn the CPU will operate at a lower temperature. There are a few companies that have been offering this type of cooler for a while.
