C.E.C's newest CD player, the TL 53 Z, features a drive mechanism that's pretty unique. Lift the lid and you'll discover that your spinning discs are fired up via a belt-drive system. This is a very unusual innovation, in that this kind of technology is usually reserved for turntables. What's more, this belt-drive approach not only brings the humble CD player into the 21st century, it also ups the ante for the overwhelming majority of players, both past and present, which are mechanically driven with the motor connected directly to the spindle.
