Portable external storage devices of high capacity hold 2.5" laptop drives in a USB-interface casing. Are they all equal? We examine the 1TB and 640GB FreeAgent Go drives from Seagate and find them to be exceptional in at least one very important way (for most SPCR readers): acoustics.
