Its SSD-specific optimizations make Windows 7 the best operating system for solid state drives. But just how much of a boost in SSD performance can we expect from upgrading to Windows 7? That's exactly what we intend to find out.

In this revision, we added the benchmark results of the OCZ Vertex 2 (Extended Capacity) 60 GB solid state drive, and improved the table of results, rearranging the results according to amount of improvement shown by each drive.
