WD 74GB Raptor Review

Hardware Avenue have posted a review of the Western Digital Raptor 74GB (WD740) SATA Harddrive. Whilst the original WD360 Raptor didn't quite offer the capacity for all purpose PC storage, the WD740 doubles the capacity in one drive, making the Raptor series a real option for all high performance users. However, with the WD360 at a slightly better $ per GB rating, can the WD740 bring enough to the table to be considered a worthy addition to the Raptor name?

"Besides the generic Caviar SATA drives available at standard speeds, WD had broken the barriers and introduced the WD Raptor, a 10K RPM SATA beast just waiting to rip through your data. However, this drive was limited to 36.7GB, which was very small even for the time it was released. Today, Western Digital plan to eliminate the Raptor's single flaw by introducing the WD740, a 74GB, 10K RPM SATA Harddrive continuing the name of 'Raptor'."
