If we are to look back within the past five years and pick one technology that has changed drastically before our very eyes in regards of where it once was and where it now sits, how far the technology has advanced in a short period of time, and even in the general sense of how it has changed the way the world communicates with each other, I would argue that we consider High-Definition video taking that honor.
