Think of it this way: the i848P chipset is basically an i865PE chipset with one memory channel disabled. We were not impressed by the specs of the chipset, but when visiting ASUS on a trip to California at the end of the year they said that their board with the i848P chipset was worth a look. Boy, were they right! This could be the best price/performance Intel motherboard on the market by any company!
