The HW-D550 is pretty compact all-in-all. I didn't have a lot of hope for the audio quality coming from a plastic speaker bar that is so thin and light. In fact, the HW-D550 speaker bar is mostly connectors (on the back) and a hollow tube with a few speakers on each end. The reason for the length of the bar itself is - of course - stereo separation. . .
