Sony announced the biggest change yet to its smartphone line-up at CES 2012 – the official dropping of the Ericsson brand and the ushering in of NXT phones. The Sony Xperia Ion is one of two Ericsson-free handsets announced – the other being the Sony Xperia S – which share a lot of similarities in specs but have differing chassis.
