Last summer I set out to buy myself a home theater system for my LCD TV. Since I was tight on space in my awkwardly shaped living room, a soundbar system seemed like it was the best way to go. My choices for soundbar systems also seemed pretty abundant - I found at least half a dozen or so different systems at local retailers that were in my price range. However, after trying out most of the systems available I was horribly disappointed in what I heard. I ended up increasing my budget and packing a much larger system into this room than I had originally planned. A lot of new soundbar systems have appeared on the market in the last few months and I haven't had the opportunity to get hands-on with any of these to see how they fare against those which I demo'd many months ago. Today, in the comfort of my own home, I have Samsung's latest HW-D550 home theater soundbar system to try out.
