The Vantec Vortex fits into a 5.25" drive bay with your hard drive resting inside. It monitors the temperature of your hard drive and also cools it, with a blower fan that is located at the front of the unit. The blower fan ensures that there will be no dead spots. It is nice to see a blower fan being incorporated into a hard drive cooler, when they are most often used for cooling CPUs.
