Posted on 2005-02-22 20:20:15 by LSDsmurfYesterday Intel released its new breed, including the Pentium 4 6xx series and the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.73GHz.
It seems as if Intel is playing a bit of catch-up to AMD with regards to the 64-bit generation by today’s announcement and release of its 64-bit instruction capable P4 CPUs. The 660 (3.6GHz / 800MHz Front Side Bus) and new 3.73GHz EE (Extreme Edition / 1066MHz Front Side Bus) both support 64-bit and both have 2MB of L2 cache which helps them with excellent game and application performance. In this review we'll take an in-depth look at Intel's new processors.
