The microphone has a separate cord and comes detached from the headset. It comes with a clip for your shirt but I found that it is best to keep it clipped to the headset wire located on the left speaker. Although this is a great microphone, The fact that it is detached with a "gaming" headset does not really make sense to me. I would have liked to see a boom or retractable microphone built in. . .
