Although the press and media would like to make you think that Gateway is relatively new to the television market, the company has dabbed in this segment before. Last year, Gateway's $2999 dollar plasma television was a top seller because of how affordable it was compared to other plasma televisions offering similar features. It now looks like the company is trying to duplicate this success with their HDTV-ready line of LCD televisions.
