Case in point: Gateway's newest slimline notebook using Intel's Centrino combination of a Pentium M processor, 855PM chipset, and Pro/Wireless 802.11b/g network adapter. The 4525GZ model sold at Best Buy carries the 1.5GHz Pentium M 705 -- an older, 0.13-micron-process CPU with 1MB of Level 2 cache. But its near-twin, the Gateway M320XL reviewed here, boasts a 90-nanometer-process Pentium M 735 chip with 1.7GHz speed and 2MB of L2 cache.
