As we kick started our testing with the custom download file transfer tests this seemed to be very much the case. In fact the extra WD Red hard drives which formed a RAID5 configuration appeared to be putting the larger 4-bay models at an advantage. When moving a single large file the TS-421 was 5% faster than the TS-221, while the TS-420 crushed the TS-220 by a whopping 29% margin.
