What makes the Radeon R9 290X matching the GeForce GTX Titan so significant is the price, at $550 the R9 290X is currently 45% cheaper. We are gob smacked by this. This puts it in direct competition with the GTX 780 which still costs more at $650, making the R9 290X around 15% cheaper. That is incredible given the R9 290X was on average 10% faster than the GTX 780.
