Naturally sticking Gigabyte’s WindForce 450w cooler on the R9 290X and R9 290 is a good fit; not only were temperatures reduced by a little over 10 degrees, but more importantly the operating volume was drastically improved. Whereas the AMD reference cards sound like vacuum cleaners when gaming these Gigabyte versions are exceptionally quiet.
