Sony PSP Review

Before I made my decision to buy a PSP, I read the majority of the reviews and to be honest I was a bit cautious on what to expect. Well, after spending a week with my PSP I can tell you that it's the best console ever! Just to set the record straight: there are no dead pixels on my screen, no problems with the 'square' button, and of course no discs flying around what so ever!! The latch and cover for the UMD discs is almost identical to the one used in Sony's mini-disc players, so it's really highly unlikely for the cover to open and the disc to eject. the screen is just amazing!

The colours are vivid, the graphics crisp and the gameplay smooth (at least in Ridge Racers). It's like looking at a PS2! The battery lasted for 5 1/2 hours and it takes ca. 2h:20m to charge from 0%. In addition, I converted some DVDs to MPEG4 and watched them on my PSP and was surprised to see the quality of the reproduction. A 100m minute film took ca. 105Mb on my memory stick. Overall, a great machine. it is literally a portable media centre, which makes it not suitable for small kids.
