From a preliminary standpoint, AMD seems to have the advantage in the dual core arena for several reasons. Low cost of adoption, future upgradeability of existing motherboard customers, full speed core communication and releasing the cores at current clock speeds all bode well for AMD. Where the biggest stumbling block will be for all dual core chips is the price: both Intel and AMD are asking a steep premium to enter the dual core market. If things shake out with AMD on top and Intel trailing, expect to see some pretty massive cuts to dual core prices early
