"Crucial's latest P1 solid state drive is actually the company's first consumer NVMe solid state drive. While Crucial might be late to the party this drive is one of the first to make use of four bit per cell (QLC) NAND flash memory, which should make the drive quite affordable. This NAND is teamed with the Silicon Motion SM2263 controller and a 1GB DDR3 flash chip. While available in 1TB and 500GB versions (with a 2TB coming later) we are checking out the 1TB today which boasts sequential read and write speeds of 2000 MB/s and 1700 MB/s respectively. Is this the low cost drive to make NVMe drives even more mainstream? Read on as we find out!"
