A couple of months back ATI pulled the slightly curious move of having a "Radeon X850 XT 512MB technology demonstration" to highlight the benefits that a 512MB board can bring, only to turn around and say that these cards will never be available to end users. Curiously, though, they have now allowed their board vendors and new SKU: Radeon X800 XL 512MB.
