The portable video player market is a new and growing market in the electronic industry. Even Microsoft has jumped into the fray with its line of portable media center players (PMP) and media extensions. Those players, however, are severely limited while other offerings like the Archos AV420 and the RCA Lyra 2780 have much more to offer in terms of features. The Mobinote DVX-POD 7010 is closer to the last two aforementioned players, but it still does not quite fit into that category due to its massive 7-inch screen. Some may not believe that this type of device would be considered portable, but its volume is still similar to that of a portable DVD player, so we will consider it portable.
