DigiTimes reports VIA's sales for December 2006 were 51.64 percent lower than the same period a year ago:
The large year-on-year decrease was mainly due to the negative impact of a rumor that Intel was forcing VIA out of the global market for processors, VIA pointed out. In addition, sales of the C7, VIA's new processors offered in early 2006 to replace its C3 series, has been short of expectations, the company indicated.
However, VIA says it's quite optimistic about 2007.
