Intel scores 43% more profit in Q3

Intel announced a net income of $1.86 billion for the third quarter of this year - 43 percent more than a year ago.

The firm had a revenue of $10.1 billion dollar which is 15 percent more than the $8.74 billion it earned in the third quarter of last year. Profits per share increased from $0.23 to $0.31. That's one cent better than analysts predicted.

For the next quarter Intel expects a revenue of $10.5 billion to $11 billion with a gross margin of 57 percent, up from 52.4 percent in the third quarter.
