Beyond3D has wrote a review about ATI's Radeon 9000 PRO :
Radeon 9000 PRO finds itself in a slightly confused market position at the moment. It's performances in many situations are quite close (if not a little faster in some) to Radeon 8500. Many people may perceive this board to be a replacement for Radeon 8500, and the fact that ATI discontinued production of 8500 chips when 9000 PRO was introduced may serve to underline that opinion, however they may also have expected the successor to 8500 to consistently perform better than 8500. Until Radeon 9500 is available, the true successor to 8500's market position and based off Radeon 9700's architecture, the real positioning of Radeon 9000 PRO may not become completely clear to consumers
