Apple considering to buy EA?

Posted on Wednesday, May 06 2009 @ 00:55:13 CEST by

One of the wildest rumors I've heard in a while was shared by Guy Adami from CNBC's Fast Money, he claims Apple is considering to buy game developer EA.

Apple might be thinking about this move to boost Mac sales and to get a larger share of the total digital distribution market, but I have to admit this move wouldn't make much sense to me. EA's main business is developing games for Microsoft platforms like Windows and the Xbox 360, and I doubt Apple is dying to get involved in that market.
Adami noted that there is chatter that Apple (AAPL Quote) is eyeing Electronic Arts(ERTS Quote) as a takeover target.
