Microsoft has finally given a hard launch date for Windows 10! The company send out word today that Windows 10 will be distributed for free to users of legitimate versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on July 29, 2015. The only catch is that you need to upgrade before July 29, 2016, after that date Windows 10 becomes a paid upgrade.

Special new features in Windows 10 will include the Cortana personal digital assistant, the new Edge browser, Windows Continuum for smooth transition from tablet to desktop mode on 2-in-1 devices, and Windows Hello biometric authentication.

Within a couple of weeks, you'll be able to reserve your copy of Windows 10 via a simple reservation process. Look for this icon in your system tray at the bottom of your screen, simply click it, and then complete the reservation process.
