VideoCardz came across a high-quality photo of what is claimed to be a sample of NVIDIA's GP104-200-A1 GPU. The site compared the Pascal chip to NVIDIA's GM200 and GM204 "Maxwell" chips and it's quite obvious the GP104 is quite a bit smaller, it seems to have a die size of around 333mm².

The laker also reveale the GTX 1080 will feature GDDR5X memory whereas the GTX 1070 will stick with GDDR5. The latter card reportedly uses eight Samsung 8Gbps 8Gb memory chips, which means it has 8GB GDDR5 memory clocked at 8000MHz effective. Furthermore, cards with the GP104 will reportedly feature three DisplayPorts, one HDMI and one DVI port.
The leaker also published the picture of the same GPU mounted on the PCB. It’s not the best quality out there, but it was helpful for our comparison mockup. This picture also shows eight memory modules which appear to be exactly the same Samsung 8Gbps 8Gb modules we saw with previous leak. It basically means GeForce GTX 1070 (and probably GTX 1080) will feature 8GB GDDR5 memory at 2000 MHz (8GHz effective) frequency.
