Nintendo officially showed off its upcoming Switch console. Formerly known as the Nintendo NX, this device lets you play your games at home and on the road, it's basically a hybrid between the traditional living room console and a handheld console. Nintendo says the Switch will hit retail shelves in March 2017.
Introducing Nintendo Switch! In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles.
The video below showcases the concept and reveals some gameplay footage. The Switch is basically a tablet with two detachable controllers attached to it. When you're at home, the tablet slides into a stand and the controllers join to form one big controller.

There's not a whole lot of information but a separate announcement from NVIDIA confirms the Switch uses a custom-design Tegra processor based on the Pascal architecture.
