Looks like the Dell UltraSharp UP3017Q is cancelled for good. First shown at last year's CES, this was to be a 30" OLED computer display with a 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 0.1ms response time and 400,000:1 contrast ratio.

With a price tag of $4,999 this display would definitely have been a pricey product but it would have been one of the first OLED monitors for the computer market so it generated a decent amount of excitement. Now Dutch tech site Tweakers.net received confirmation from Dell that the UP3017Q got cancelled.

Dell did not share the reason for the cancellation but French site site Les Numeriques claims the OLED screen did not meet expectations and suffered from severe quality issues. Among other things, the color reproduction was said to be subpar under certain viewing angles.

It's unknown if Dell is working on another OLED display.
