ATI confirms Intel's 955X chipset will support CrossFire

Posted on Thursday, August 25 2005 @ 02:51:17 CEST by

ATI announced on the second day of the IDF that its CrossFire graphics solution will work on Intel's 955X chipset, as well as on its own RD480 chipset.
Intel has been shipping 955X boards with dual graphics slots for a while now and this is official confirmation that CrossFire won't require an ATI chipset motherboard, opening up the opportunity for system builders to continue to use chipsets they're already familiar with.
The first CrossFire cards will be launched by September 15th. For more details and photos read on at Bit Tech
