AMD shows Ryzen 7 1700 running with DDR4-3400

The post about Ryzen compatibility issues with high-frequency DDR4 memory was controversial to say the least. The original comment from ASUS and Gibbo from OCUK indicated their boards and products from competitors struggle with memory overclocks and that only the ASUS Crosshair VI Hero achieved 3000-3200MHz.

There are still a couple more days to go until the reviews arrive but in the meantime AMD celebrates #MemoryOverclockMonday with the tweet below.

The company posted a photo and a CPU-Z memory tab screenshot of a system with the ASUS Crosshair VI Hero (X370) motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU and two sticks of 8GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 memory overclocked to 3400MHz. A positive sign but of course, this does not dispel the rumor about the platform having issues with 4 DIMMs running at high frequencies.

But on the bright side, those leaked gaming benchmarks from earlier today look really good.
