Gigabyte BIOS updates patch Intel ME and TXE security bugs

Earlier this week, we wrote that Intel released security updates for serious flaws in the Management Engine that runs on its processors. These updates are now starting to trickle through the PC ecosystem, we just received a message from Gigabyte that the company has issued new BIOS versions that include the ME and TXE security updates. Hopefully, other motherboard makers and PC OEMs will follow soon.

The updates for the motherboards will be released starting with the Z370, 200 series and then previous generation motherboards.
