Job listings show Samsung is stilll planning to make its own graphics processors. The first chips will be intended for low-end smartphones and tablets, but later versions will be aimed at autonomous driving applications and other machine learning jobs.

Basically, Samsung will take full control of its graphics solution. The firm will define the ISA, the architecture, the software, the entire solution. Rumors about a graphics chip from Samsung first popped up about five years ago but so far we've seen no trace of these. The project allegedly suffered some setbacks but the job posting reveals this is definitely still in the works:
**Our flagship GPUs will populate lower tier mobile devices while nextgen GPUs embrace evolving markets like autonomous driving and the power of machine/deep learning computations. This is Samsung’s proprietary IP. We will define the ISA, the architecture, the SW, the entire solution. Not many companies can claim this - We can.**
