Will Intel not be making its own GPUs? A photo on the Twitter feed of Raja Koduri reveals Intel's GPU head visited a Samsung fab in South Korea around the time that the latter announced its 5nm EUV process.

Next, a rumor is floating around that Intel is one of the customers who ordered samples for Samsung's 5nm node. All this sparks speculation that Intel may tap Samsung to manufacture its Xe discrete GPUs.

Anyway, take it with a grain of salt, but the timing is definitely curious. Intel's third try at discrete graphics is expected to hit the market in 2020. The chip giant will target the server market but will also have a consumer version.
