A new Half-Life game is on the way! On Thursday, Valve will be revealing the first new Half-Life title in 12 years, but it may not be the Half-Life you were waiting for. Called Half-Life: Alyx, this will be the company's flagship VR title. More details will be revealed this Thursday at 10am PST.

According to the rumor mill, Half-Life: Alyx will be a VR-only game set for a March 2020 launch. It's reportedly designed for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windowed Mixed Reality, and Valve Index headsets. Half-Life: Alyx is a prequel set years before Half-Life 2 and will feature Alyx as the main character.

It will be interesting to see if Valve can create something unique here that will drive the adoption of VR headsets. This generation of virtual reality has been around since 2016 but so far we're not seeing a lot of evidence of a major VR boom.
