Despite complaints of poor availability of the GeForce RTX 3080, it seems lots of gamers still got their hands on cards. VideoCardz reports there are quite a lot of posts on the NVIDIA forums as well as the forums of various tech sites and social media about issues with games crashing to desktop.

The issue seems to be limited to factory-overclocked models. It's unknown why this is happening but underclocking the GPU seems to work as a temporary fix. NVIDIA nor its board partners have officially addressed this issue.
At the time of writing, there were no official solutions to this problem. However, if you are experiencing such issues with crashing in games at higher clock speeds it is recommended to manually downclock the GPU by 50 to 100 MHz. Undervolting may also be recommended, but this requires MSI Afterburner 4.6.3 Beta 2 .
