SiS obtains Pentium M license

SiS today announced that they have obtained an agreement with Intel for a Pentium M license. The Intel Pentium M CPU is a mobile processor but some people would love to see it in the desktop market because of its very high performance, low heat and low power usage. For example a 1.6GHz Pentium M shows a performance in benchmarks equal to a Pentium 4 M 2.4GHz. And the Pentium M his battery usage is much less than the Pentium 4 M.
| Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS), a leading supplier of core logic products, today announced the company has reached agreement with Intel Corporation for a Pentium® M microprocessor license. This gives SiS the necessary rights to build chipsets based on Intel ® Pentium® M microprocessors. Additional details of the agreement were not disclosed.
