DVD+R DL 8X to come in 2005

In 2005 DVD+RW alliance is keen to introduce DVD+R DL 8X discs and drives and we heard that this might happen in Q2 already. Alliance plans to increase the speeds of DVD+RW from current 4X to 8X.

According to documents we have seen, recording speeds of DVD+R won't change from current 16X that we already saw in 2004.
