Germany advises not to use IE until bug is patched

Following the revelation that a bug in Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser was exploited to hack Google and at least 33 other companies, the German government has send out a bulletin that recommends web users to switch to an alternative browser.
Germany's Federal Office for IT Security (BSI) informs web users that PCs running IE 6, 7 and 8 on the Windows XP, Vista and 7 operating systems are vulnerable to attack.
The agency recommends that you switch to a different browser until Microsoft issues a patch for this vulnerability, as it believes attacks can not be fully prevented by running IE in safe mode and disabling active scripting.
