DDR2 adoption slow in 2005

Although DDR2 was first made available back in March 2004 when Intel introduced its 915/925 series of chipsets, it hasn’t been accepted as the top performer over DDR since that time. The reason is obviously the unviable Intel platform with a ridiculously high performance to price ratio. At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, majority of the memory makers said DDR2 would have better luck this year due to technology maturity and consistent price drops. The level of excitement at the show regarding upcoming DDR2 speeds was quite high. More info at CTZ
