AMD's Q3 2005 roadmap

AnandTech has a look at AMD's new roadmaps for the desktop, mobile and server market. The first part is about the introduction of the 940 pin Socket M2 which will bring support for DDR2-667 memory.

Processors with the new M2 socket are called Revision F and they will include all features of the current Revision E processors. Unfortunately the new AMD processors will get quite hot. The current San Diego Athlon 64 uses 80A with a maximum Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 90W, while the new Revision F will use 95A. Unfortunately a quite huge increase in TDP is expected.

The new FX M2 processors are expected to have a max TDP of 125W, 110W for dual core and 104W for single core. Anyway, you can find the rest of the roadmaps with more details about AMD's desktop, mobile and Opteron plans over at AnandTech.
